Short Story

The short story genre that I am really interested in looking into would have to be one that includes a sense of mystery and confusion.  I like the thinking process that I must endure at the end of a story that ends with a twist ending.  To me, a story that leaves its readers thinking is the ultimate attribute I believe every story must pertain to.

The story that I have chosen to read is one by Roald Dahl called “Man From the South.”  Mr. Dahl has been notable in writing modern day classics for children such as James and the Giant Peach, Matilda, and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory to name a few.  With this accolades, I was excited to take the opportunity to read one of his short stories.

“Man From the South” seems interesting as the description told of a man who was offered a deal that sound very intriguing and also very confusing.  The offer calls for a winning prize of a new car and a losing prize at the cost of the man’s finger.  I look forward to reading this short story as it has all the attributes of a work of literature to catch my attention.
